That's what I did this weekend. What did you do?
I'm trying to sober up in Surfers Paradise, but I don't believe it's possible. This is the tourist beach spot for all of Australia. It looks just like Florida. It's South Beach. The clubs are open all night and it's hot as balls. AND it's the first time I have heard TI or gotten to listen to any hip-hop in a club. They are too big on it here. When all the kids finish school for the summer they come here for weeks. I caught the tail end of it.
I danced Friday night away between two girls that took a liking to me. Who knew? I went out with some German guys from my hostel and made them drink whiskey. I find that I am teaching a lot of people the pleasures of whiskey. Everyone says it's so American that I drink it, and I say, damn right it is. Saturday night I club hopped and even checked out the local gay bar. Scary. So it's to the beach this morning for some R&R and then on the train to Brisbane.
The weather has finally turned to summer. It's hot and only getting hotter. Byron Bay was grrreat but a little expensive. The walk along the coast to the lighthouse at the point was unreal. So beautiful. I will share pictures as soon as I can.
